A Quick Ron Holland Update

On Friday, April 28, five-star Ron Holland de-committed from Rodney Terry and the Texas Longhorns and reopened his recruitment. Prior to choosing Texas, Kentucky was one of Holland's top choices. Now that he is open again, Kentucky has reached back out.

Holland is rated as the sixth-best player in the country according to On3 and was a McDonald's All-American as well. Someone like Holland is just what this incoming team could use to really move closer to championship-caliber. The 6'8 forward from Duncanville, Texas, would play a stretch four role that this team desperately needs.

Early indications have SEC foe Arkansas as the favorite, but G-League Ignite, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and even a possible return to Texas are on the table. It is important to note that Arkansas forward Jordan Walsh did post a picture of him training with Ron Holland today, which is not the best news.

But what I have learned through my time as a Kentucky fan is to never ever count out John Calipari for a recruit because most of the time, if Cal really wants someone, he gets them. Even though it may seem the chances to get Ron Holland are slim with how star-studded our team already is, I truly believe that there is a reality in which he possibly becomes a Wildcat for the 2023-2024 season.

Let's watch this one play out.
