Andre Stewart Enters The Transfer Portal

The transfer portal opened up this afternoon for undergraduate players, and it's consisting of a 15-day period from April 15-30 that players can choose to transfer elsewhere during the spring season window. The Cats have officially lost their first player to it this afternoon as redshirt defensive back, Andre Stewart, announced that he would be going portaling.

The Atlanta native was a mid-year enrollee for the football program as he made way onto campus in January 2022. After redshirting his freshman year, he's decided he'd like to see what options were available to him across the sport, which was first reported by Matt Zenitz of On3.

Stewart was ranked the 59th best cornerback in the nation coming out of North Cobb High School and a top-57 player in the state of Georgia. Rivals had him listed as a three-star before his decision to come to Kentucky. You may even remember, he was an Auburn commit before flipping to the Cats. Just barely a calendar year later, his name may never make it to Kentucky's stat sheets as he's yet to clock in any minutes.

While he is the first one to enter his name, he surely won't be the last, so stay tuned to see what other names may take a leap of faith into taking their talents elsewhere.
