Avery Skinner continues to represent the University of Kentucky well as she has been named a top 30 candidate for the prestigious 2021 NCAA Women of the Year award. The former cat, now a member of the Baylor Bears, was our outside hitter for our 2020 National Championship team.
The NCAA Women of the Year award "honors the academic achievements, athletics excellence, community service and leadership of graduating female college athletes from all three divisions." On the court, Avery was a national champion, AVCA All-America First-Team member, and NCAA Tournament All-Tournament member. Off the court, she was also an SEC Community Service team representative.
These accolades and the award nomination should be no surprise as we all can remember the excellence Avery brought to this volleyball program and the university as a whole. The Big Blue Nation wishes you the best of luck, Avery!
