When Kentucky fans hear the words "Big Blue Madness" that can only mean one thing and that is that Kentucky Basketball is right around the corner.
The school finally announced that the annual event will be held on Friday, October 14th but also announced the return of Big Blue Campout which will be held on October 1-2.
Fans will be able to start moving in at 5:00 a.m. on the 1st and ticket distribution will begin at 9:00 a.m. the next day.
The Big Blue Nation has been looking forward to the return of this Kentucky Basketball tradition for a long time. The last time there was a Big Blue Madness Campout was all the way back in 2019 prior to the pandemic.
For those worried about missing out on the Kentucky Football game that weekend versus Ole Miss don't panic. There will be a watch party for both the UK Volleyball team and the UK Football game, both which will be broadcasted at the campout. All of these festivities will be held at Memorial Coliseum as previous.
This is a flashback all the way back to 2009 during John Calipari's first year at the University of Kentucky and this photo always makes me smile. I love that Calipari had the players deliver Papa John's pizza to the UK faithful. I can only assume that Calipari will implement those same past traditions into this year's campout. Seeing this brings joy to my heart because it brings back a sense of normalcy to what has been a crazy past few years.
My suggestion is that if you plan to attend the campout this year I would get there early the morning of. With all the excitement behind this year's team I would say that there will be a fairly huge crowd of UK fans trying to get their hands on tickets to attend Big Blue Madness instead of trying to get lucky on Ticketmaster.
