Every year the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame project who they think will be the nations best small forwards for the entire season, and then cut the list until the best one is still standing, awarding them the Julius Erving Award, which crowns them as the best small forward in all of college basketball.
BJ Boston is one of three players in the SEC mentioned on this list, which includes Florida's Keyonte Johnson and Tennessee's Yves Pones.
This year's award will be presented at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show in April. If Boston was to win this years award, he would become the Wildcats' first winner of the small forward positional award, out of the seven years of its existence.
By mid-February, the list will be trimmed to 10 players. Five finalists will be revealed in late February with the winner being announced during the annual ESPN College Basketball Awards show on April 9. Fan voting will be a part of all three rounds of voting before a winner is announced.
