Cam Dooley Commits To Kentucky

Kentucky adds more depth to its defense for the class of 2024. Cam Dooley, a 3-star recruit out of Valley, Alabama announced on national signing day that he plans on attending the University of Kentucky.

The now Wildcat played high school football for Valley High School where in his junior season he played some at both the defensive back and quarterback positions. At quarterback, Dooley threw for 721 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. He also ran for 377 yards and 6 touchdowns.

While playing on defense, Dooley managed to rack up seven tackles and an interception on defense in his junior season. In his senior year of high school, Cam was named to the preseason Super 8 Senior list by the Opelika-Auburn News. The 6'4" 200-pound athlete was ranked the 62nd-best athlete in the entire country and the 35th-best overall athlete in the state of Alabama (2024 class).

The 3-star athlete had some competitive offers from other D1 schools such as Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Georgia State, Maryland, South Carolina, Tulane, UCF, and Wisconsin. However, the biggest threat that the Wildcats had to fend off was the Missouri Tigers. This was a great get by Brad White and the rest of the coaching staff on National Signing Day. Kentucky has struggled at the defensive back/safety position as of late and even though I don't see Dooley getting minutes immediately I think he possesses the skills to learn and grow into a starter later on in his collegiate career.
