Cason Wallace Selected 10th Overall In 2023 NBA Draft

As you witnessed on your television last night if you are a true fan, or just had no other plans like myself, Kentucky's Cason Wallace was selected in the lottery of the '23 NBA Draft. "With the 10th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, the Dallas Mavericks select, Cason Wallace, from the University of Kentucky," said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

The Dallas Mavericks did trade the draft rights to the Oklahoma City Thunder shortly before, so Wallace won't be headed to play for his home state of Texas. Instead, he'll be joining former Wildcat Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren in OKC.

Cason Wallace was the only first round guarantee from the four players who played for Kentucky last season that entered the draft, and he's seems happy about where he's landed. Even with just one Wildcat getting spotlight in the first thirty picks of the event, Cason was able to work in a good touch of the UK brand in saying, "Kentucky players in general, they get to the league. And they stick."

Not to mention, this becomes the 16th straight year that Calipari has had a first round pick. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

I can't wait to see Wallace prosper under the mentorship of 2023 NBA All-Star Shai, as he'll get a lot of opportunities early on within the franchise. I think this will be a great fit and I didn't see essentially anyone online saying otherwise. Congratulations, CW.
