Chris Livingston Named To Julius Erving Award Watch List

Kentucky's own Chris Livingston has started picking up the preseason nominations as they are just days out from their first exhibition of the year.

The former five-star standout from Oak Hill Academy and No. 1 player from the state of Virginia last year is expected to do some big things during his freshman year at Kentucky. Picking up a watch list nomination for the Julius Erving Award, an award given out to college basketball's best small forward at the end of the season, seems to me like he's trending in the right direction.

Chris is just one of 20 candidates for the award, which fans can vote on in three different rounds, with the first round taking place in late January to cut the list in half to 10, the second round in late February to cut it to 5, then the final round coming at a later date around the end of the regular season.

Fans are encouraged to participate in voting in each of the three rounds for the Naismith awards. In late January, all of the lists will be narrowed down to 10 players and five in February. Winners will be announced at a to be determined date.

Just last weekend he finished with 15 points and 4 rebounds in the Blue-White scrimmage down at Appalachian Wireless Arena in Pikeville, Kentucky. His first unofficial game (exhibition) comes this Sunday against Missouri Western State, which opens up the season and leaves the rest of the time for him to prove himself to the entire nation.

The only Wildcat to win the award was Tyler Ulis back in 2016. Can Chris be the next?
