Chris Rodriguez Jr. Is BACK

A week after Kentucky won their second Citrus Bowl in four years, UK running back Chris Rodriguez has officially announced via a public service announcement on Twitter, a return for his senior season. Rodriguez just finished his best season at Kentucky, with 1,272 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns on 205 attempts.

The UK running back room is in great company with Rodriguez, JuTahn McClain and La’vell Wright, all who are looking for significant playing time. Kentucky has no freshman running backs coming into the 2022 season but the race across the depth chart at the running back position will be one to keep an eye on throughout spring and summer ball. It is also worth noting that with recent rule changes, the transfer portal can potentially be something to keep an eye out for.

Quarterback Will Levis has already announced his return for the 2022 season, and with other players such as Dekel Crowdus (WR), Chauncey Magwood (WR), Jager Burton (OL), Kenneth Horsey (OL), John Young (OL), Eli Cox (OL), Izayah Cummings (WR/TE) and additions via the transfer portal (including WR Tayvion Robinson) and other returners waiting to announce their decision, Kentucky will have a very loaded offense.

Chris Rodriguez announcing his return for a senior season is huge for Kentucky moving forward. After the 1,200+ yard season, Rodriguez will look to continue his legacy and help add even more to the offense in 2022.

We’re just getting started, bro.
