Dane Key Picks Up Horse Racing Related NIL Deal

Coming off a solid game down in Gainesville this past weekend, and making a SportsCenter-worthy catch to help catapult the offense towards a win over SEC East foes, the Florida Gators, Dane Key has picked himself up another NIL deal.

The true freshman has signed an endorsement deal with a local and well-known horse farm in Versailles, Kentucky, in WinStar Farm.

This now makes two horse racing related name, image, and likeness deals by the UK football team as Will Levis also has one with Claiborne Farm. You can see that Dane announces a new commercial that he stars in, promoting the popular stallion, "Nashville."

WinStar Farm is an ultra-successful horse farm owned by Kenny Troutt, billionaire and co-founder of Excel Communications. WinStar Farm owned 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify, 2010 Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver, 2010 Belmont Stakes winner Drosselmeyer, and 2016 Belmont Stakes winner Creator. Stallions at the location collectively breed 2,500 + mares a year! WinStar Farm also won the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Breeder of 2016 after leading all North American breeders with earnings of $10,516,427, led by Tourist. Horses bred by WinStar earned 15 graded stakes wins and 239 overall wins in 2016, placing WinStar first in these categories as well.

I said this for Will and I'll say it again for Dane - How cool is it to see a staple of Kentucky meet with another staple in UK Athletics? This type of NIL deal you'll only see in the Commonwealth, for the most part, so it makes it so much more unique than most NIL deals. Horse racing matters most in this state and Kentucky football isn't far behind that. Bonding the two between two stellar athletes makes complete sense.
