DeAndre Liggins signs with the London Lions

The list continues with former cats signing professional deals overseas as this morning it was announced that DeAndre Liggins has signed with the London Lions of the British Basketball League. “I am very excited to join such a winning and upcoming organisation. My competitive edge and winning mentality will certainly be effective immediately in the London Lions’ organisation, I’m excited and can’t wait.” Liggins will play the small forward and guard roles for the Lions, which he'll get his first reps as the Neptunas Klaipeda come to town on September 15th, for their first game of the season.


The two-time G-League Defensive Player of the Year (2014 and 2016) and 2016 G-League Champion will bring plenty of talent to the British Basketball League, coming off a decent season with the Kolossos Rodou of the Greek League, averaging 10.8 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 5.7 APG, and 1.3 SPG.


Lions Head Coach, Vince Macaulay commented on the signing of DeAandre Liggins, “This is a great opportunity for us all in British basketball, Deandre is an unbelievable hard worker, we wanted someone that would nullify the highest of European talent and we think we have him, His experience, his team ethos will no doubt spread into our team, I’m delighted we could sign him and I’m sure all our fans will take him to their hearts.”


Deandre Liggins is now nine years removed from the University of Kentucky, but continues to make a living playing professionally overseas, with numerous of stunts in the NBA's G-League programs as well.
