Deuce Hogan Enters Transfer Portal

Kentucky will go into its' 2024 season down one more quarterback. Deuce Hogan, the presumable 4th-string backup quarterback behind Devin Leary, Kaiya Sheron and Destin Wade will enter the transfer portal with two years of college eligibility remaining.

The former Iowa backup played in only one game as a Kentucky Wildcat, and that was against his former team, Iowa, in the 2022 Music City Bowl. After losing the starting job leading up to the bowl game to Destin Wade, Hogan made an appearance where he threw on 6-7 attempts totaling for 19 yards and a long of 11.

Leading up to his college career, Hogan attended Faith Christian in Grapevine, Texas, where he starred in Netflix series 'QB1', a behind-the-scenes look at highly touted high school quarterbacks and their rise to national prominence. Hogan is the second quarterback to play under Mark Stoops that has starred on the show, as Nik Scalzo showed a wild, alter ego and charismatic display of his life on and off the field in season 3 of the series.

As far as quarterbacks go in 2024, former Georgia backup Brock Vandagriff is 100% Liam Coen's guy, and that bond is already a force to be reckoned with. As far as backups, Beau Allen will make a return to his hometown to fill that role. Secondly, Kentucky will bring in freshman high-caliber recruit Cutter Boley out of Lexington Christian Academy to develop as their potential star quarterback and future of the program.
