ESPN Dropped From Dish And Sling TV On Eve Of Wildcats’ Football Game Against Ole Miss

If you planned on watching the Kentucky Wildcats play Ole Miss today, and you have Dish or Sling TV, you will not be happy. When the Wildcats and Rebels kick off today, subscribers of those providers will be without ESPN. On Friday night at midnight, the contract between ESPN and Dish Network, and their affiliate Sling TV, expired. As a result, each and every ESPN network has been removed from those platforms.

According to a statement released by Dish:

“We were not able to reach a mutual renewal agreement with Disney and without a contract in place we are legally required to remove their channels from our service. We offered Disney (ESPN's parent company) a contract extension to keep working towards an agreement and avoid any interruption to your service, but they refused this offer and walked away from the table.”

There are some alternative options for those who want to watch the wildcats today. You can watch Kentucky vs. Ole Miss by getting a new (or temporary) television provider, such as YouTubeTV or Hulu Live. Both of those providers are offering free trials for their services.

Whatever you have to do, find a way to watch the Cats beat the Rebels today at Noon!
