Final Stats In Loss To UNC Wilmington

In a Saturday evening set up for the potential to be a lot of fun, it was quickly turned opposite as the Wildcats dropped their second game of the season with this one coming to a program many didn't expect to win at Rupp. Many people were in fact wrong. Kentucky trailed at halftime and only led for a few minutes in the second half before finally losing 80-73 to the Seahawks from the CAA.

Checking out the final stats of the game, it's kind of easy to point out the flaws. Kentucky's three-pointers weren't falling like usual (5/17), the offensive spark from Rob Dillingham was non-existent, and the turnovers were tied for a season high (14). With DJ Wagner out, Reed Sheppard ran the point and got his own, finishing with 25 points and a lot of late game buckets that kept it close until the final buzzer. With that being said, his performance wasn't enough.

Kentucky falls to 6-2 with losses coming against No. 1 Kansas and UNC Wilmington this evening. The Cats will be back in action next Saturday against Penn at noon.
