Final Stats In Win Over Illinois State

On a cold Friday evening the basketball team packed into Rupp Arena (sold-out game) to hopefully watch the Wildcats get a win after watching a heartbreaking but more frustrating bowl game loss to Clemson just a few hour prior. Well, that ended up coming to fruition as Kentucky defeated Illinois State, 96-70.

The storyline behind this game was that the Redbirds are the former program that Antonio Reeves played for just two seasons ago, so many predicted for him to have a high-scoring night against his old team. I found myself in the opposite category after watching what he did the Louisville in the first half, thinking he'd cool off in this one, but I was in fact wrong. The veteran Kentucky guard finished the game with a team-high 27 points.

Other leaders in the win were Rob Dillingham (16) and DJ Wagner (14). Here is the final stat sheet of Kentucky's 10th win of the season.

The 'Cats end non-conference play with this one going 10-2 with losses to only No.1 Kansas and UNC Wilmington. Up next they'll head down to Gainesville in the New Year to face the Florida Gators in game one of SEC play. It will take place on Saturday, January 6th, at 12:30 pm.
