Former Indiana Commit Liam McNeeley Contacted By Kentucky

When I say that recruiting never stops at Kentucky that is an extreme understatement. We are just days away from the NCAA Tournament and Kentucky has already thrown their name into the mix for class of 2024 prospect, Liam McNeeley. McNeeley is a 5-star forward from Richardson, Texas but has been playing high school basketball for Montverde Academy out of Montverde, Florida.

The top-20 recruit was originally committed to the University of Indiana but just recently decommitted back on March the eighth. You know it is very likely that John Calipari and staff will be rebuilding their roster once again in the offseason and Liam could be a welcomed addition to the already loaded talent coming in as freshmen. However, Kentucky isn't the only program to reach out to the prospect, as Kansas, UConn, Tennessee, Auburn, and even Florida have thrown their names back into his recruitment.

When Liam McNeeley committed to Indiana it was well known that he made that decision over a close second for the Kansas Jayhawks, so with that being known one would have to assume that Bill Self would be the early favorite to land the talented forward. Although, I don't see that stopping Calipari in giving his best effort to land what could be a crucial piece for the 2024-25 season. There are a lot of things going on for McNeeley at the moment so I would say that we are still a few weeks away from learning his decision for where he wants to attend college in the fall.
