ICYMI: Kentucky Moves in Newest AP Poll

Monday was a news filled day in the world of Kentucky athletics, specifically with the announcements of key football players returning. A tidbit that was lost in the fold of yesterday was the release of the women's college basketball AP top 25.

Following a 1-1 week, Kentucky rose two spots in the rankings from 21st to 19th. The Wildcats picked up a victory against 15th-ranked Georgia last Thursday at Memorial Coliseum before falling on the road to top-ranked South Carolina. Even with a modest 8-4 record, voters still see the potential that Kyra Elzy's squad presents. The Wildcats are battle tested and the strength of Kentucky's schedule is without a doubt helping their case in staying in the rankings. As the conference schedule ramps up, Kentucky will need to start winning games consistently to stay in the conversation as one of the top 25 teams in the nation.
