Introductory Press Conference With Kentucky's New OC, Rich Scangarello

With the Spring football season nearly here, and Kentucky making some meaningful changes to the staff during the offseason, the new faces needed an introduction. The football program held a press conference for the new hires, Rich Scangarello and Mike Stoops, on Tuesday afternoon.

Rich says that the way this career move happened was just perfect timing. He mentioned that he wanted to get back to coordinating and Mark Stoops was the right head coach to do it under. "I was not looking at any other places. This was the only college opportunity that I considered." The new offensive coordinator said, "There's something to build on here and I'm excited to take it to the next level if I can."

Rich says he caught some of the LSU game last year during a meeting and saw Will Levis' performance and thought to himself that "this guy is pretty good." After going back and studying a lot of his film at Kentucky, he said the quarterbacked has many good qualities about his game. "The qualities that I look for in a great quarterback he possesses a lot of them." Then doubles down on those qualities, mentioning that what he searches for in a player is toughness, football intellect, processing ability and the physicality to pull it off in games. The fact that he sees all of those things in Will projects an exciting second season for him as a Wildcat.
