Kentucky just hit another home run in the transfer portal with another wide receiver committment. This time it was from Ja'Mori Maclin, the brother of former Missouri great and long-time NFL receiver Jeremy Maclin. Ja'Mori spent two seasons with the Missouri Tigers before transferring to North Texas for two seasons.

He did not receive much playing time until his first season with North Texas, bringing in 16 receptions for 380 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2022. However, Maclin vastly improved on this in his sophomore season with the Mean Green program. He caught 57 receptions for 1,000+ yards receiving and managed to get into the endzone on eleven different occasions.

The wide receiver from Missouri was ranked as a 3-star prospect coming out of high school and had several offers from schools such as Missouri, Arizona State, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, and Indiana, amongst many others. However, since announcing his plans on entering the transfer portal Ja'Mori Maclin has received offers from 27 different schools resulting from his breakout year this past season. Those include schools such as LSU, Notre Dame, Colorado, Oregon, Florida State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Louisville, Florida, Auburn, Washington, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and of course Kentucky, to name the higher interest of offers.

Kentucky is wasting no time getting their guys in the transfer portal this season, bringing in many talented pieces to build next year's team. First it was Georgia backup QB Brock Vandagriff, followed by the wide receiver from Texas A&M, Raymond Cottrell, then it was running back Chip Trayanum from Ohio State, and now Kentucky picks up an explosive route runner in Ja'Mori Maclin. Kudos to Mark Stoops and company for making the transfer portal the focus and doing it very early, improving their roster for the upcoming season.
