Kentucky and the rest of the league are down at SEC Media Days this week to preview the upcoming season, as well the programs across the Southeastern Conference.
Each team will bring their head coach, alongside a few players, usually the captains, from their roster. Kentucky elected to bring Sahvir Wheeler and Jacob Toppin, but head coach John Calipari announced this morning that Jacob had not made the trip due to an injury. Lance Ware came in his place.
Calipari said that Jacob Toppin had a “minor injury”, which was why he didn’t travel down to Birmingham for the event and he eluded to the fact that it was not a big deal at all. I’ve been told it was an injury to a leg of his, but I have not confirmed that yet. Either way, John Calipari said that it is minor and that he will be out only a few days, so whether it ever leaks or not, it is not really that big of a deal on what exactly it is.
He now joins Oscar Tshiebwe (knee) and Lance Ware (muscle pull) on the short-term injury list for the Wildcats.
