Jalen Farmer Transfers To Kentucky

Kentucky has made a lot of improvements to their offense within the first few weeks in the transfer portal. Today the Wildcats got bigger and more depth to their o-line. Just announced, they've gotten a transfer from in-conference rival and Florida Gator, Jalen Farmer. The Wildcats had to fight off a strong push from Tennessee, but ultimately won the battle.

Jalen is a former 3-star recruit from Covington, Georgia who played high school ball for Eastside High School in the class of 2022. Standing at 6'5" and 325-pounds, the offensive lineman was recruited to play for former Gator head coach, Dan Mullen, however when Dan Mullen was let go Jalen Farmer re-opened his recruitment back up to see what his options were. Kentucky was in a really good position to complete the flip, but once former Kentucky offensive line coach Eric Wolford left for Alabama it ended the chances of it happening and the recruit decided to honor his commitment and sign with Florida.

In 2022, he appeared in two games before being redshirted. In 2023, Jalen saw action in two games again, coming off the bench in Florida's win against Vanderbilt and making his season debut back in Week 2 against McNeese. The Wildcats will get some good size with this pickup and he has three full years of eligibility left to play with the Kentucky.
