Javon Baker Will Not Join UK Football Team

After an offseason full of excitement with the transfer portal, and the potential of an even bigger football season in 2022, it appears there is some bad news to report.

Alabama transfer wide receiver Javon Baker will not be a Wildcat. After announcing his transfer to Kentucky, many of the Big Blue Nation began to ‘roll the tape’ and watch every Baker highlight they can get their eyes on to see what kind of playmaker he was.

The 200th overall player in the 2021 class played in 13 games his sophomore under Nick Saban at Alabama, recording 7 receptions for 101 yards and 1 touchdown, behind a deep rotation of receivers.

There have been rumblings that the cause of the departure is due to academic ineligibility, and the ruling seems to be official. With a deep wide receiver room, it will be a point of interest amongst media going into summer ball.
