Joey Gatewood has been ruled eligible
Mark Stoops announced Wednesday evening that Auburn transfer QB Joey Gatewood has been ruled eligible by the SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.
The NCAA granted his waiver a few weeks ago, leaving Kentucky to wait on the SEC to approve their part. Cat's Illustrated beat writer Travis Graf broke the news earlier this month that he had been hearing of a "gentlemen's agreement" in which Kentucky reportedly agreed to Auburn that they wouldn't play Joey Gatewood against them in game one, if he had been ruled eligible before then.
I guess we won't know for sure if that was the case, but it sure does look like it now. Pretty coincidental he gets ruled eligible the following week after Kentucky played Auburn.
Anyways, this is huge news and you can pretty much lock him in as QB2, right behind Terry Wilson.
