Kentucky has added Saint Joesph's to its non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season. As we're about 2.5 months out from when this thing actually gets kicked off, the full schedule is starting to come together. While we don't have it completely finished, or should I rather say, completely announced, we do know of another opponent headed to Rupp Arena this year.
Even with UK not yet announcing this matchup, St. Joesph's schedule was released and it had Kentucky tabbed as an opponent for late November (20th), right here in Lexington. I would consider SJU a quality opponent with a brand of their own. They might not be a powerhouse but they have had their own respectful success over their program's lengthy history. The Hawks of St. Joes have participated in 21 NCAA Tournaments and have had 29 different players be drafted into the NBA. And in terms of team success, they have reached a top-ten ranking status over 51 times in their history. They've had many years of quality basketball, although, this is a game Kentucky needs to (and likely will) win.
The time for the game has not been announced, but we will post that here once it is. Until then we just have one more slot on our planners to fill in.
