Kentucky Drops In This Week's AP Top 25 Poll

Some basketball news that isn't very shocking: Kentucky has dropped in the weekly AP rankings.

After losing both of their first legitimate tests in Michigan State and Gonzaga, there really isn't another direction their ranking could have gone. Yeah, winning 3 of their five games is positive, but when you beat up on teams like South Carolina State and Duquesne, it doesn't give you that much good equity in terms of ranking up across the sport.

After being ranked No. 4 and falling to 3-2, the Cats come in this week ranked at No. 15 in the country.

AP Top-25:

  1. North Carolina

  2. Houston

  3. Kansas

  4. Texas

  5. Virginia

  6. Gonzaga

  7. Baylor

  8. Duke

  9. Arkansas

  10. Creighton

  11. Indiana

  12. Michigan State

  13. Auburn

  14. Arizona

  15. Kentucky

  16. Illinois

  17. San Diego State

  18. Alabama

  19. UCLA

  20. UConn

  21. Texas Tech

  22. Tennessee

  23. Maryland

  24. Purdue

  25. Iowa

As Kentucky looks to figure out their early season struggles, they'll host North Florida on Wednesday night to get back in the win column. Wow, what an embarrassing but true statement I just typed out. What weird times we're living in. Keep that between us, please.
