Kentucky Football Game Time Announcements

With the college football season looming and with us only being a short three months away, we are starting to get some information about game times and television broadcasts for the upcoming season.

Just moments ago, the Southeastern Conference announced their 2024 early-season television schedule. This will give Kentucky fans a little bit of insight on the first three games of the 2024-25 season. Those first 3 opponents of the year include Southern Miss (Aug. 31), South Carolina (Sept. 7), and Georgia (Sept. 14), all in Lexington at Kroger Field.

Now here comes the fun part. For those of Big Blue Nation who like to partake in the tailgating festivities, weeks one and three will be tailored just for you. Kentucky's home-opener against Southern Miss is scheduled for a night game with a 7:45 pm EST kickoff and the broadcast coming on the SEC Network. Two weeks after that when the Georgia Bulldogs come to town, that will also be another night game with the kickoff time being scheduled for 7:30 pm EST kick and broadcasted by ABC’s network. Two quick chances on the schedule to spend the evening with the football program, rooting on the Cats.

In between these two night games, Kentucky hosts the South Carolina Gamecocks for week two. This game is scheduled for the 3:30 pm EST slot and will be aired on ABC as well. So, if you're like me and you're just an overall fan of football in general, this sets up a good day of hanging out with your friends, grilling out, having a couple of drinks, and then capping the evening off with some Kentucky Football. There are not many things better in life than doing just that.

Kentucky will more than likely not have their first noon kickoff until week four or even week five when they host the Ohio Bobcats or go on the road to face Ole Miss in Oxford. Don't get me wrong, I see the benefits of the noon kickoffs: You can wake up, eat breakfast, watch the game, and still be home at a decent hour. While that’s great and all, if you're like me and what feels like the majority of the Big Blue Nation, we love watching Kentucky play under the Saturday night lights in an atmosphere that feels like only one thing matters for that period of time. I can’t wait for it and thankfully it’s not too far away.

I will see you bright and early for tailgating and all Kentucky Football festivities come August 31st. Go Cats!
