Kentucky Football Newcomers Receive Jersey Numbers
Updated: Mar 5
The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and everything is coming back to life in the Bluegrass state. This can only mean one thing: Kentucky Football Spring Practice is upon us.
The Wildcats will begin spring practice starting next Monday, March 6, and will practice through Tuesday, April 11. With all of the new faces on the 2023 roster, it is time for the Big Blue Nation to get a little bit more familiar with the newcomers.
There haven't been any announcements on jersey changes with any of the Kentucky Wildcat returnees, but there have been some jersey numbers announced for the newcomers, whether that be high school signees or transfers.
Taking a look at the transfers:
Devin Leary will continue wearing the number thirteen that he wore during his time with the Wolfpack.
Vanderbilt running back transfer, Ray Davis, will be making a switch from jersey number two to jersey number one.
Keeshawn Silver, a defensive lineman transfer from North Carolina, will be wearing number nine.
Northern Illinois University transfer, Marques Cox, will be rocking the number sixty-nine.
Alabama transfer and Kentucky kid, Tanner Bowles, will be wearing number fifty-one.
JQ Hardaway will wear number six.
Jantzen Dunn will wear number ten.
Shane Hamm will wear number nineteen.
Now onto the high school signees:
Anthony Brown will wear jersey number five.
Ty Bryant will wear jersey number thirteen.
Malachi Wood will wear number seventy-one.
Khamari Anderson will wear number eighty-two.
Tommy Ziesmer will wear jersey number ninety-six.
If you are like me, it takes me a little while to get familiar with all of the fresh faces on the team each season. One way you can get more familiar with this new group of guys is to attend the open practice which will be held on April 1 at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility. I highly recommend it and will see you there if so.
