Kentucky Football Wide Receiver Dane Key Named Mid-Season Freshman All American
The 2022 college football season had reached the midway point. Now is the time of year when many organizations put out mid-season awards lists. One of those lists contains a University of Kentucky football player. Highly touted freshman Dane Key has been named freshman All American by 247 Sports.
According to 247 Sports:
“One of two first-year standouts at receiver for Kentucky this year, Dane Key has quickly made a name as a big-play threat. He’s had catches of at least 19 yards in half of Kentucky’s games this year, and he leads all Wildcat starters with 16.1 yards per catch. Key has caught 20 passes for 322 yards and 3 touchdowns.”
This is a huge honor for Key, but one that shouldn’t surprise Wildcat fans. Key has been making big plays since he arrived on campus. His athleticism is off the charts and he has shown flashes of his NFL pedigree all season long. It will be fun to watch the second half of the season and see just how well Key progresses.
