Kentucky Lands UNC Transfer Keeshawn Silver

Updated: Jan 10, 2023

After the surprising news of Justin Rogers entering the transfer portal, Mark Stoops wasted no time finding his replacement. North Carolina transfer, and former five-star recruit, Keeshawn Silver, has announced his commitment to Kentucky.

Silver saw very limited action during his freshman season in Chapel Hill, totaling only three tackles on the season. Despite the lack of playing time, the talent and build is very much there. With a 6'4", 315-pound stature and being formerly tabbed as the top-ranked player out of North Carolina in his class, Kentucky continues to hit potential home-runs inside the transfer portal.

Just days after losing highly-regarded Justin Rogers to the portal for reasons not exactly clear, the staff replaces him with a talent like this. It's pretty impressive that Kentucky is a place that can do those kind of things on a consistent basis. While this program is becoming "Transfer U", Kentucky fans have a lot to look forward to each offseason.
