Kentucky Men Absent In AP & Coaches’ Poll Again

Another week, another instance of disrespect from the voters in the AP Poll and the Coaches' Poll.

Despite their three game winning streak, the Kentucky men's basketball team only received three votes in the AP Poll. Purdue is the new No. 1 team in the land with the Boilermakers jumping over Houston and Kansas. Both Houston and Kansas each lost games over the weekend. Alabama jumped up to second behind the Boilermakers, placing them two spots ahead of Tennessee, who made a five spot jump to fourth. Kansas State rounds out the top five. The complete AP Poll looks like this:

The Wildcats fared a little better in the Coaches' Poll, where they garnered 19 votes. Purdue is the new No. 1 in the Coaches Poll, as well. They are followed by Alabama, Houston, Tennessee and Kansas State, creating an identical top five. The complete Coaches Poll looks like this:

Kentucky will likely have to extend their winning streak by several more games to gain enough votes to crack the top 25 in either poll. With a trip to Nashville and Kansas limping into Rupp Arena in their next two games, the Wildcats will need to play some of their best basketball in the next week to accomplish that.
