Kentucky Moves Up In This Week's AP Poll

After an impressive 'who's who' win in Atlanta over the 9th ranked North Carolina, Kentucky resumes their climb in this week's AP Poll into the top-ten.

AP Top-10

  1. Purdue

  2. Kansas

  3. Houston

  4. Arizona

  5. UConn

  6. Marquette

  7. Oklahoma

  8. Tennessee

  9. Kentucky

  10. Baylor

Kentucky now owns wins over then ranked 8th Miami at home and this past weekend over 9th UNC in a neutral game enviornment. The Wildcats were sitting at 14th in the country just last week with this making it their first top-ten prescense of season, including during the preseason polls.

The most exciting thing is that this couldn't have come at a better time. Their next two games comes at Louisville (Dec. 21) and at home versus Illinois State (Dec. 29), which everyone expects Kentucky to win those with ease. My point being that Kentucky won't face a true challenge until nearly a week into the New Year when they go down to the University of Florida on January 6th. So, the 'Cats should remain in the top-ten for the next 3+ weeks at minimum. There's your Christmas present from the men's basketball team.
