Kentucky Recruits Show Out In Iverson Classic

We've all seen the rankings of this incoming class and the expected production from them, but some of them are showing out already against some of the top recruits in the country. On Saturday, April 29, the Iverson Classic took place and the future Cats were the stars of the show.

DJ Wagner, Justin Edwards, and Rob Dillingham all suited up for the Iverson Classic in New Jersey on Saturday night. The event is split into two different teams, with one being Team Loyalty, and the other being Team Honor. Wagner and Dillingham showed out with Loyalty and Edwards with Honor. The event began on Thursday with a three-point contest in which DJ Wagner took home the trophy.

The actual game was back and forth, with Team Loyalty getting the win 131-124. DJ Wagner finished with 19 points and 6 assists, as well as, bringing home the MVP award for his team. Justin Edwards had an impressive 20-point performance as he earned the MVP award and the Mamba award for his team. Rob Dillingham shared a backcourt with Wagner and earned himself the Crossover award.

Through all the high school showcases and All-American games this season, the future Kentucky Wildcats have just simply dominated the competition and proven why they make up the number one recruiting class in the nation. I know positive thinking has gotten us into some bad positions these past couple of years, but I cannot help but be super excited to watch these guys play. I am counting down the days until we get our first look in Toronto at the GLOBL JAM against some very elite competition. It has been a rough couple of years for us Kentucky fans, but excitement and confidence are at a high for the 2023-2024 season.

Are we headed for number 9?
