Kentucky Rises In AP Poll Following Huge Kansas Win

Following a blowout win over Kansas in Allen Fieldhouse, Kentucky wraps up what will most likely be their most difficult stretch of games of the regular season. Kentucky finished 4-1 in a five game stretch that consisted of three road games in hostile environments, three ranked opponents, and two top 5 ranked opponents. Their only loss was against who is now the #1 ranked team in the country, Auburn, with TyTy Washington and Sahvir Wheeler both getting injured mid game.

Due to this recent success, the Cats break the top 10 of the AP Poll for the first time since the first week of December, coming in at #5. This gives Kentucky their highest ranking of the season, as well as their largest jump of the season with a 7 spot improvement.

Kentucky's first opponent this week, Vanderbilt, had not received any votes in this week's AP Poll. However, Alabama, who Kentucky plays on the road this Saturday, fell under the "Others Receiving Votes" category - equivalently #26 - following a huge win over formerly #4 ranked Baylor.
