Kentucky’s Schedule And Expectations

When you commit to play for John Calipari and the University of Kentucky, you’re not only expected to be the best, but you’re also expected to play the best. As the old saying goes, “ya gotta beat the best to be the best.” The Cats may have one of it’s hardest schedules we’ve seen in quite some time. They have always had a tough non-conference schedule in recent years, but the list below is an absolute gauntlet.

I have watched enough UK basketball to know when a team will be great. Regardless of the competition we faced in the Bahamas, this years team 100% has that championship DNA.

If we are being conservative, I’d say there are 3 losses in those games listed above - at UT, at Arkansas and at Gonzaga. The Drew Timme/Oscar matchup will be extremely fun to watch. I do think that this years team is way better than last years, but every team drops a few. Unless you’re 2015 Kentucky, those are the three games I see us dropping. I could be wrong though. We could sweep Auburn and Tennessee. This could be one of those two-loss Calipari teams going into March. I expect a maximum of 5 losses going into the tournament with an undefeated home record.

Either way, it is a great time to be a Kentucky fan right now. The football team begins in 10 days while having the most legitimate chance to win the East in a long time, and Kentucky basketball is only 2 months away.

I’m ready.
