Kentucky Set To Play Western Kentucky In Place Of Louisville

John Calipari announced on his radio show that we are set to play Western Kentucky on Wednesday. This will be in place of our game against Louisville, which was cancelled due to COVID complications on Louisville's behalf. The game is also set up to raise funds to go towards to the tornado relief efforts throughout the western region of Kentucky.

Yesterday, we reported that Gonzaga was a likely possibility, and we can confirm that they were one of the top priorities of who Kentucky reached out to, but were not able to get it worked out. Wisconsin was also heavily rumored down the stretch today as a potential replacement. Ultimately, scheduling complications got in the way of bringing a ranked opponent into Rupp Arena, and Kentucky went with Western Kentucky University in hopes to continue raising money for that area of the state.

Western Kentucky is 8-4 on the season and just beat aforementioned Louisville, 84-74 last week. They also have a 23 point win over Ole Miss and have won seven of their past 8 games. This should be a legitimate contest for our Cats while also providing for a good cause.

Tip-off will take place at 6:00 pm in Rupp Arena, Wednesday night.
