Kentucky Signee Reed Sheppard To Play In Lexington This Weekend

Just last week, Kentucky signee Reed Sheppard played in Lexington in the Lexington Catholic Holiday Classic tournament, in which his team lost in the second round to North Oldham, 81-67.

This weekend, he will make another appearance, as North Laurel plans to participate in the 'Second Chance Shootout' event at Lexington Catholic High School. North Laurel will face Lyon County, who also participated in the Lexington Catholic Holiday Classic tournament last week.

The importance of this matchup is that you get a chance to watch Reed Sheppard (North Laurel) and Travis Perry (Lyon County) go head-to-head, in what will likely be an all-time great battle between two KHSAA legends. Reed Sheppard, as you know, is a UK legacy, whose parents are Reed and Stacey Sheppard. He is committed to Kentucky and ranks 11th all-time in points scored in the Boys' KHSAA record books. Travis Perry, who also holds an offer from Kentucky, but has not committed to a school yet, ranks 2nd all-time in points scored for the KHSAA Boys standings, chasing "King" Kelly Coleman's record while being just a junior.

This will be one of the most attended games of the regular season and it will take place right here in Lexington. The game starts at 7 p.m. in the Robert J. Bueter Athletic Center at Lexington Catholic High School. If you can't make it in person, the online stream is available through PrepSpin at this link.
