Some pregame news has surfaced involving the Kentucky Wildcats as they are less than an hour away from their last regular season matchup. This afternoon at 2:00 p.m. ET., Kentucky will attempt to steal a win at Arkansas over Eric Musselman's 19-11 Razorbacks.
During all of the pregame festivities, ESPN's Seth Greenberg, a huge advocate for Kentucky Basketball over the years, made the announcement on College GameDay that point guard Cason Wallace will not suit up for the game as he is still rehabbing his lower leg injury. This is major news that you can only hope this team can survive through as he is one of the most valuable pieces to this team's destiny. That point right there might be exactly why he is being held out today. They desperately will need him during the postseason run.
KSR's Jack Pilgrim also announced that he is being told that CJ Fredrick will lace his shoes up again for this game, obtaining three straight availabilities for the first time since February 7, almost a month ago. CJ managed to clock in 28 minutes against Vanderbilt last Wednesday, and 8 minutes versus Auburn last weekend. He clearly isn't back to 100% yet, but getting him valuable reps in these final games will help him get his legs back up and going before the March stretch starts, and also allow him to get that feel back for the rim on his jump shot.
The game tips off at 2:00 p.m. ET inside of Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas, which I'm sure will be a sold-out t-shirt day kind of atmosphere. Let's see if the Cats can survive.
