As the Kentucky Wildcats come off their third straight loss at the hands of the Tennessee Volunteers, they will look forward to Week 9 as they prepare to go on the road to Starkville to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are currently 4-4 (1-4 SEC) and are coming off of a loss this past week to the Auburn Tigers, who won in a pretty convincing fashion by a score of 27-13.
With all that being said, and definitely to not look past the Bulldogs, the game time for Kentucky's final home game of the season was announced earlier today. The Wildcats will take on the Crimson Tide on Saturday, November the 11th, with a noon kickoff time. ESPN will be airing the match up against the two teams.
Alabama is currently 7-1 on the year and ranked inside the AP Poll at No. 8. They take on a very good LSU team at home this coming Saturday before preparing for the Cats. The LSU Tigers are currently 13th in the AP Poll rankings as of this week.
I am certain that most Kentucky fans would have preferred either the 3:30 PM time slot on CBS or even a 7:00 PM night game but with the Wildcats losing their last three games to Georgia, Missouri, and now Tennessee, you can't be too surprised that this is where they ended up.
Like I stated earlier, the Wildcats need to focus on the game ahead this week against Mississippi State and try to secure that sixth win of the year and earn bowl eligibility because in all honesty, their schedule doesn't get any easier after Alabama as they have two more road games coming at South Carolina and at Louisville. This week is a crucial game for Mark Stoops and the Wildcats as they look to extend their bowl streak to eight straight seasons.
