Kentucky vs. Mississippi State Game Time Announced

Updated: Oct 24, 2023

We are now in week 8 of the college football season and the Kentucky Wildcats are scheduled to face off against the 21st ranked Tennessee Volunteers this coming Saturday night at Kroger Field. The kick off for that game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with ESPN on the broadcast.

However, it was announced earlier today that the Wildcats will get their fifth night game thus far this season. This one is coming on the road in week 9 as the Wildcats travel down to Starkville, Mississippi to take on the Bulldogs who are currently 4-3 this year. The game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT. kick. This game will be on the SEC Network.

Although I am definitely not looking over the fact that Kentucky plays one of their biggest rivals this weekend in Tennessee, we are going to take a closer look in the history of Kentucky vs. Mississippi State. The all-time series is currently tied as both teams have 25 wins against one another. One things that we do know about Mississippi State is that the Wildcats have struggled when playing in Starkville, and have never actually won there under the helm of Stoops. The last win this program has earned on the road against the Bulldogs dates all the way back to 2008, so roughly fifteen years of consistent struggles in that stadium. At home, it's been a different story. Kentucky has had Mississippi State's number in Lexington as they has won every game over the past nine years dating back to 2014.

If there is something for Kentucky fans to be positive about is the fact that last weekend versus a very lackluster Arkansas team, the Bulldogs managed to win the game, but just barely with a 7-3 victory. Mississippi State only was able to put up a little over 200 total yards against the Razorbacks. If the Wildcats play the way they are capable of playing then this year could be the year for Mark Stoops to get a victory down in Starkville. We shall see.
