Kentucky will host SEC East opponent South Carolina for their sixth game of the season right here in Lexington as another night game.
On October 8th, kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. under the bright lights of Kroger Field and its sea of blue packed fanbase. This will be the Wildcats fourth night game within their first six, which I don't think too many people are upset about. There is just something different about a night game especially when you're at home. It seems that the fans are more in-tune with what's happening, the enviornment gets a little more brighter (pun intended), and the atmosphere is just so much better in my opinion. With all day of drinking and built up excitement from tailgating, by the time the sun goes down things can get a little rowdy.
The good thing about this matchup is the once UK "rival" is no longer so. Kentucky has won 7 of the last eight games against the Gamecocks dating back to the 2014 season. This program has since passed them by quite the margin and now views them as a likely win each year. Spencer Rattler or not, no one under Mark Stoops' supervision is a least bit worried about seeing South Carolina on the schedule anymore. Let's chalk this year up as a win as well.
