Kentucky Will Face lowa In Music City Bowl

Updated: Dec 6, 2022

The Wildcats look to be heading back to Nashville to face Iowa in the 2022 edition of the TransPerfect Music City Bowl. This is a rematch of last year's VRBO Citrus Bowl.

Kentucky and Iowa will kick off at 11:00 am C.S.T, in what will be Kentucky's sixth Music City Bowl appearance in program history (2-3 all time record). The Cats will take on a 7-5 Iowa team led by senior quarterback Spencer Petras.

It is still not known what the status of Kentucky running back Chris Rodriguez will be for the bowl game, but it appears the Wildcats will be without star quarterback Will Levis, as he continues to prepare for the 2023 NFL Draft.

For many fans, that piece of news is a bit of a downer. A rematch against a team that took Kentucky down to the wire last year, PLUS the 12 pm kickoff makes it line up to tip-off time of the Kentucky vs Louisville basketball game in Rupp Arena.

The game will be shown on ABC.
