Another piece has been added to Kentucky's 2022-23 basketball schedule for this fall. The State Farm Champions Classic, which usually opens the regular season off for Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State and Kansas, has been pushed back to the second week of the season, with this year's matchups taking place on November 15.

According to Jeff Goodman of Stadium.com, Kentucky will face Michigan State in the 2022 Champions Classic. This year's event will be held in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The non Kryzezwski-coached Blue Devils (Duke) will face the Kansas Jayhawks.

At the time of this post, these two games will be played 176 days from now. The event has been on-going since its start in 2011, grouping "four of the nation’s best programs" against each other.

After eleven outings of the event, Kentucky is 5-6 in the Champions Classic all-time, and have lost in four of their last five appearances. Duke is 7-4 all-time, Kansas is 6-5 and Michigan State is 4-7.

In the midst of my research for this article, I found the highlights from Kentucky's last Champions Classic win in 2019 (posted below). Man, that sure was a fun night. Lets hope Kentucky can climb back to where they once were just only a few seasons ago.
