Kentucky Women Fall Just Short, Lose To Mississippi State

The Kentucky Women’s Basketball team lost a heartbreaker to Mississippi State, with the final score of 77-76, down in Starkville. Kentucky led at the half, 33-28, but was outscored in the third quarter, giving the Bulldogs a two point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Kentucky could not overcome the third quarter deficit and fall to 9-10 overall on the season. They are 1-6 in SEC play.
The Wildcats were led in scoring by Robyn Benton, who had 24 points. Benton also led the teams in assists, with seven. Jada Walker added 22 points, while Maddie Scherr had 16 points. Scherr also led the Wildcats in rebounds with six.
The Wildcats return to action on Thursday, when the Auburn women come to Lexington. The game will be shown on SECN+, as streaming service, and will tip off at 7 p.m.
