After much anticipation, five-star prospect Kiyaunta Goodwin, makes it official and signs with the University of Kentucky.
The entire fanbase has been anxious all day waiting on this news to be announced, after it was changed two different times from 8:15, to 3:30, to now with what just happened at 5 pm. Thankfully, the wait was worth it as Kiyaunta is now a Wildcat.
Kiyaunta Goodwin caps off a record setting class for Kentucky, in which they have signed 19 different players from the 2022 recruiting class, with KG being the highest ranked of them all.
Goodwin is an immediate starter with a very high ceiling and the sky seems to be the limit for the kid. The 6'8, 340 pound OT from Indiana is strong as an ox and has the work ethic of a veteran that I believe that will spill out onto the field as he creates room for our offense to do their thing. I would have been a little bit shocked if Goodwin had chosen elsewhere to play his college ball, especially since Vince Marrow and the coaches of Kentucky had been investing in him and recruiting him since his middle school days when he was just in the 7th grade. With that being said, it seemed to be Kentucky all the way until Michigan State made a last minute push towards nearly securing a commitment. Ultimately the success UK is having in Lexington won out. Players want to be a part of what is happening here, and he is the next one in line.
247Sports has him ranked the 13th best player in the country, and the No. 2 OT in the class.
Here is the timeline of his recruitment after committing to Kentucky last April.

Kiyaunta Goodwin is currently Kentucky's third highest rated recruit all-time, behind Micah Johnson and Antonio Hall, since rankings have been kept.
