Ladies Begin SEC Play With Top-25 Match Up

The Lady Wildcats begin SEC play against 15th ranked Georgia (12-2). Georgia is coming off of a four-point win against Florida on Sunday while Kentucky has yet to play since December 19th due to Covid. Georgia's only two losses come to Georgia Tech by one point and LSU by six. Meanwhile, they took down the #2 ranked at the time NC State on the road. Kentucky might come out rusty but with it being played in Memorial Coliseum that can hopefully give them the boost they need with it being the first game back.

Georgia is a very good all around team, they have scoring (72.3 ppg), they play tough defense (54.6 ppg given up), and they have that star player (Jenna Staiti). Staiti is a John R. Wooden Top-25 awards finalist and can do it all averaging 14.2 ppg and 7.3 rpg. The 6-4 center will look to get the UK bigs in foul trouble early. They don't shoot from the outside very good, only 31% from three, so with Kentucky's lack of three point presence this year this is a good match up.

Kentucky will have to bring their "A" game to pull off the upset but with home court advantage and favorable match ups across the board I'm confident in the Lady Cats chances.

Make sure to show up to Memorial Coliseum or tune in at 6 P.M. CT on the SECN+!
