Mark Stoops Named 6th In Odds To Take LSU Job

When you win games, teams come calling. It's a good thing and an even more of a sign that you're doing something right, I suppose.

BetOnline.Ag listed their odds for who the next LSU Head Coach will be, and our own got thrown onto the list, as rumored it would be over the last few days.

Just 24 hours after LSU announced they would part ways with Ed Orgeron after the season, and only nine days after Kentucky pounded the LSU Tigers by double digits

(42-21) has Stoops become a hypothetical candidate.

The odds currently sit at:

Mel Tucker +200

Lane Kiffin +500

Luke Fickell +600 James Franklin +650

Jimbo Fisher +750

Billy Napier +750

Bill O'Brien +900

Mark Stoops +950

Joe Brady +1200

Bob Stoops +1200

Dave Aranda +1400

Urban Meyer +1600

Jon Gruden +10000

Do not worry for one bit. Mark Stoops is not leaving Kentucky anytime soon unless its for a really special place, and LSU is not that. You saw what just happened to Ed Orgeron only two seasons off of winning a title - they fired his ass. They don't have time to wait for a coach to 'rebuild' or to 'find his groove.'

Mark has built something really special here in Lexington and he knows that. He's top 15 in the country in salary, about to become the winningest coach in Kentucky history, and has everything he could want right here. The facilities are extremely nice, he's about to get the practice facility he's been asking for from Mitch Barnhart, and the stone workers are already building the statue of him outside of Kroger Field. (Not really, but it isn't far off). It would take a lot for him to leave Lexington and he's sitting pretty well as is. He's beloved by his fans, continues to take the program to new heights each year, and has great recruiting classes coming in during the next two offseasons.

LSU can have whoever they want, but I'll go on record and tell you it won't be Mark Stoops. Eat it, tiger fans.
