Mark Stoops Updates Us On 3 Injured Players

Kentucky has lost three key players due to injury in recent weeks, and on Mark Stoops weekly call-in show he addressed their status and how long it may be until they return.

Stoops is often really brief on questions like these, but at least he's honest about them. Here is what he had to say on TE Izayah Cummings, WR Josh Ali and NG Marquan McCall.

Izayah Cummings

Cummings injured his shoulder against Georgia and no official word has came out to what the injury is labeled as, or if it will sideline him for the Mississippi State game or not. Stoops says that Izayah Cummings is in a sling currently, but is "still banged up."

Josh Ali

Josh Ali left the Florida game with a leg injury, and was projected to be out just two weeks with a return coming likely in the Mississippi State game. Mark Stoops said that Ali is "getting closer" to a return, and they're hoping he is back after the bye week as scheduled.

Marquan McCall

We didn't get a whole lot on McCall when Stoops was asked if he'll play against MSU for Kentucky's next game on the schedule. "We'll see," was his answer. Maybe more positive news will come out next week as Kentucky dives deeper into prep for the Bulldogs.

Kentucky enters its bye week after losing to Georgia for just their first loss on the season, winning the first six and reaching an 11th overall ranking in the AP Poll before this weeks drop.
