With Kentucky Basketball being on a heater as of late, there was a lot of buzz about another potential commitment for them coming some time today. However, before lunch time things have been quite the opposite. This morning, Kelly Craft broke the news about a huge commitment on the football side of the aisle.

Just moments later it was announced on KSR’s radio show that the four-star recruit, Marquise Davis, had decided to commit to the University of Kentucky’s football program.

Marquise Davis is a top-175 ranked player nationally, as well as the 11th-best running back in the nation. Not to forget, he’s also rated as the 7th-best player in the entire state of Ohio for the class of 2025.

Davis was heavily recruited by Kentucky but also had several other offers from schools such as Tennessee, Cincinnati, Duke, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M, USC, and Michigan, among many others.

Michigan always appeared to be the favorite to land the talented tail back out of Cleveland, Ohio, but it’s clear that the case might’ve been a little different than of public knowledge. It is worth noting that Marquise had 10+ Crystal Ball picks to the Wolverines but his announcement proved all of those insiders wrong with his commitment to the Wildcats.

The newest Wildcat is a 6'0 210-pound running back but he has eluded to that he can “run like he weighs 190 (lbs.)”, which essentially means that he can make those quick cuts to get up the field but also has that extra weight to lay a hit on a defender if need be.

Davis has played on both sides of the ball in high school during his sophomore and junior seasons. Despite his role as a running back, he also played as a safety/linebacker hybrid. He finished his junior campaign with over 2,200 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns. On defense, Davis managed 63 tackles (5 for a loss), 1 sack, 3 interceptions, and 4 pass breakups.
