Move over class of 2024, here comes the 2025 class. For someone who appeared to be "on the way out," John Calipari is hitting the recruiting trail hard for the class of 2025. He seems to have his eyes set on several talented prospects including Darius Acuff Jr., Darryn Peterson, Jasper Johnson, Cayden and Cameron Boozer, AJ Dybantsa, Koa Peat, Caleb Wilson, Malachi Moreno, and Meleek Thomas.
A lot of these talented prospects for the 2025 class have made official visits to Kentucky but now Meleek Thomas has decided that he plans to take one to Lexington as well. Thomas is the seventh overall recruit in '25. The five-star combo guard from Midland, Pennyslvania plans to be in Lexington on February 3rd according to Joe Tipton from On3.
This is Thomas' second official visit as he is just coming off of an OV with Auburn this past weekend. Meleek also cut his list down to a 'final twelve' not too long ago with Kentucky and Auburn being two of those remaining, but the others include Kansas, Duke, Tennessee, Indiana, Kansas State, Michigan, UConn, Miami, Villanova, and Pittsburgh.
The 6'4" and 175-pound guard can score several different ways. He can get to the basket efficiently and has also been known to have a pretty good stroke from behind the three-point arc. Now it can only be a good sign that John Calipari is getting in on Thomas' recruitment early, however, I imagine that he will have several other official visits scheduled outside of Kentucky's within the coming months. His recruitment has got a long way to go.
