Oscar Tshiebwe’s Historic Night In Rupp Arena

Oscar Tshiebwe stood up to the challenge tonight, taking on the nations tallest player, until he (Jamarion Sharp) had to leave the game after he rolled his ankle towards the beginning of the second half.

It was clear no one would stand in the way of his success, as he went for 28 rebounds, setting the Rupp Arena record for most in venue history. Oscar also surpassed Shaquille O'Neal's record in Rupp (21), and tied for most rebounds for a Kentucky player since Mike Phillips recorded twenty eight in 1976.

The 'Big O' finished with 14 points, 28 rebounds, 1 block and 3 steals on 50% (6/12) shooting. NBA2K created-player type stats. Ridiculous...

His entire press conference after the game was one to watch.

Oscar Tshiebwe’s rebounding performances through 11 games at Kentucky are now sitting at 20, 20, 16, 10, 14, 16, 16, 11, 7, 12 and 28. The sky is the limit to what he can do here.
